Internet marketing firm part of the state's Emerging 8, according to Utah Business magazine.

The Bluffdale-based search marketing firm made the list for the second year in a row. Utah Business magazine compiled the 2011 Emerging 8 and announced the winners at a luncheon last week.
"We're thrilled to be among the Emerging 8, but we have a lot of work to do," SEO.com President Ash Buckles said.
SEO.com's clients have ranged from small businesses to Fortune 50 companies. The firm offers search marketing services that help businesses get noticed on the Internet. Specializing in search engine optimization, SEO.com improves website rankings, traffic and revenue for its clients in search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing.
Employees at the professional SEO firm push for their clients' websites to dominate search results when their customers look for the products or services online.
"Our staff is great and our product is great," said Michael Hohl, vice president of sales and marketing for SEO.com. "We have a great brand."
Companies applying for spots on the list of Emerging 8 needed to submit revenue information to Utah Business. The numbers were reviewed by a third-party accounting firm, which ranked the companies based on compound annual revenue growth, according to Sarah Ryther Francom, managing editor of Utah Business.
"SEO.com is a great example of a company that has persevered during tough economic times due to its innovative practices and technologies," Ryther Francom said.
About 50 Utah businesses applied for this year's Emerging 8.
"For the Emerging 8, their percentage of growth was the fastest among all the companies that submitted information," Ryther Francom said in a telephone interview.
All members of the Emerging 8 are headquartered in Utah and have been doing business for less than five years. Also recognized last week was this year's Utah Fast 50, a list of the state's fastest-growing businesses overall. Only companies that have been in business at least five years qualified for the Fast 50.
Ryther Francom said the luncheon last Thursday was "full of energy."
"That's nice to see, especially in these hard times when companies are struggling," she added.
The companies recognized last week employ about 25,000 Utahns, Ryther Francom said.
"They're real drivers of the economy here," she said.
SEO.com was not the only search marketing company recognized by Utah Business. Other Internet marketing firms were among the winners.
According to the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization, this year Internet marketing should grow to a $20 billion industry.
