Backlinks | Wp Syndicator Builds Backlinks

I'm constantly amazed at the development of the wordpress platform, now there's a plugin called WP Syndicator that builds backlinks automatically. It's called WP Syndicator and was created by a clever chap named Andy Fletcher. As you might realize from the name, this plug-in is made to help you syndicate your blog posts in a far easier way than doing it by hand.

What the plug-in does is syndicate an excerpt from your blog post onto up to 15 Web 2.0 properties all in one easy click. The sites that it posts on are: WordPress, TypePad, Blogger, Vox, LiveJournal, Tumblr, Mulitply, Plurk, FriendFeed, Xanga, Identica, you are, Blellow and Bright Kite. It will also send a tweet about your latest blog post at the same time.

I guess I'm lazy because I really hate setting these types of plugins up, but it only will take you 30 minutes to an hour for initial set up. It really doesn't take long to set up 15 sites and you might even have a few set up already. In fact, WP Syndicator makes it really easy to set these accounts up because you do it right through the plugin, or should I say you can use the interface of the plugin to set everything up. Andy even included some handy videos that are accessed, again, right through the plugin interface and they show you every detail you need to know....these aren't 15 minute videos....just a minute or two with details you need to know. This will take you from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how fast you type and how fast you can get through it all.

Now that all the hard work is done, go ahead and write and post and hit publish....your blog post will be automatically syndicated if you choose! A very handy feature allows you to pick which 2.0 sites to syndicate to should you want to go easy on any of submission sites. Also, sites like Identica and Blellow are looking for specific types of content so you wouldn't want to spam their sites by syndicating content that wouldn't fit their requirements. You can easily turn those two sites off before you have WP Syndicator do its thing.

WP Syndicate takes an excerpt from your blog post, a length you can determine, and sends it to the 2.0 websites for syndication. The default setting is somewhere around 90 words or 500 characters. At the end of your text snippet will be a hyper-linked text that links back to your blog post, something like "Continue Reading....", but you have the ability to change the anchor text to the keyword or keyword phrase of your choice! Obviously Twitter would be handled differently and the "Read More" would be changed to a shortened url.

So what does this mean? You might just be looking for links but these 2.0 sites create traffic that is going to be reading the rest of your blog post at your blog! If your blog intro's create interest the readers will be anxious to click on the "Click here to read more" to finish reading that great article you wrote! Another benefit will be more subscribers because you are using hover adds and optin forms to build a list aren't you! Perhaps the biggest benefit will be all the backlinks pointing to your blog, just remember to use it judiciously.
