Web hosting firm Fasthosts has added a free tool to its web hosting packages designed to improve SEO for websites.
The TrafficDriver SEO tool submits websites to hundreds of search engines worldwide, as well as managing meta tags on behalf of website owners. The tool also offers monthly reports regarding SEO.
Fasthosts said the changes were as a result of research by the firm earlier this year that revealed one in three small businesses are stressed by their online visibility and that 41 percent of small businesses do not optimise their search engine position .
Furthermore, the web hosting firm has increased the amount of space available through its web hosting packages by up to four times the original amount. The Personal Standard package now comes with 15GB of space while the Personal Premium package has been boosted to 100GB. For business users, the standard package also comes with 100GB of space but the Business Premium package now offers unlimited web space.
Fasthosts said the increase in web space would "enable firms to upload additional content to their websites and create a richer online experience".
The number of MySQL databases that allow firms to store and search data held within tables (such as product specs, customers, orders, blogs etc) on their website has also been increased and Microsoft Exchange 2010 is now standard on all packages.
